Hello everyone, who’s ready to try out a new recipe?! It’s a raw bar recipe. This is a great healthy snack filled with good fats and vitamins. It is inspired by a video that was done by Aimee Song.
So here are the ingredients that you will need in this recipe :
- 2-1⁄2 handfuls of oats
- 4 tbsp of chia seeds
- 1 handful of sunflower seeds
- 12 dates
- a cup of walnuts
- 2-1⁄2 tbsp of coconut oil
- a pinch of salt and pepper
- shredded coconut
(Around 30 minutes of baking)
Before starting anything, preheat your oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
Place your oats, chia seeds and sunflower seeds in a bowl and mix.
Then, add coconut oil and blend together until the oats are fully covered in coconut oil.
Add salt and pepper.
Place a baking sheet on your baking tray and spread olive oil all over the surface. Then spread evenly your granola mix onto the tray.
Bake for 15 minutes, flip the granola and bake for another 15 minutes. Adjust baking time to obtain a nice golden colour, meaning the bar is pretty much ready.
While the granola is in the oven, remove the seeds from the dates and slice the dates into small pieces.
Take the baking tray out of the oven and let it cool down for about 5 to 10 minutes before moving on to the next step. (Once you get it out of the oven, it smells a little bit like popcorn.)
Place your granola in a bowl and add the dates. Try to crush the dates as much as possible, so that there are no big chunks left when you are done mixing them with the granola. Also add some walnuts after breaking them into smaller pieces with a blender.
When you are done with mixing everything, place the mixture evenly on a plate or tray that you pop in the freezer. Coat everything with shredded coconut (add as much as you want).
Wrap the tray or the plate in Saran Wrap and leave it in the freezer for about 2 hours.
