Today, I want to share with you my favourite way to prepare a delicious salmon meal. Salmon is one of the foods I prefer. The taste is heavenly and it has so many health benefits. From being a great source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids to helping maintain your hair and nails healthy. There are many ways to prepare it but this is my favourite easy recipe.
You need very few ingredients:
- Salmon (obviously 😉) Try to get wild salmon to minimise exposure to toxins.
- Olive oil
- Salt & Pepper
- A fresh lemon
So first you dip the salmon in olive oil and lemon juice from the fresh lemon. Once that is done, sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper on it. You can also add some spices if you want to. For now, it seems to be nothing special but the magic comes with the cooking technique.
Put some olive oil in a small pan and let it heat up for five minutes on medium/low. Then place the salmon face down in the pan, so the skin is showing up. Leave it there for about four minutes until it starts to brown. While waiting, preheat your oven to 220°. Once the salmon is brown, flip it over. Take the whole pan and place it directly into the oven for about 8 minutes.
And you’re done! This cooking technique gives the salmon a nice softness inside and a grilled/crispy texture on the outside.
